Welcome to March and Spring everyone!  We survived the snow and cold and Spring is upon us.  Time to get those P-cars ready to get on the road and join fellow members around the area.

The March membership meeting will be a hybrid in-person/ Zoom meeting held on Tuesday, March 16th at The Powerhouse Eatery   60 Powerhouse Road, White Haven, Pa  18661. https://powerhouseeatery.com/ .The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM  If you are planning on attending in person, please try and be there around 6:00 PM in order to eat and socialize before the meeting.  The Powerhouse will be complying with all the COVID regulations.  Tables will be spaced appropriately apart and set for not more than 4 people each. Remember to wear your mask! We will have our own meeting room.  Please be sure to look at the attached Meeting Agenda and both January 2021 and February 2021 Monthly Membership Meeting Minutes which will be up for approval. This month’s door prize will be a classic….a Porsche 928 model for you to assemble. You must be present in-person or on Zoom to win!!  The oil can drawing is currently at $322.  Again, you must be present in-person or on Zoom to win.  Who would like to win an awesome model or $322 right now?

Last month’s door prize winner was George Buynack. 

The Communicable Disease Waiver (CDW) still needs to be used and the process remains unchanged from last year. It is required at all events. If you signed one last year, however, you need to sign a new one for this year as that one has expired.   You can find the updated Communicable Disease Waiver at this link or on the PCA website. The CDW is valid from the date of signing through February 28, 2022. Please print one out and bring it along to the meeting so we can have it on file.

Pocono Region is looking for volunteers for the following 3 Chair positions for 2021:
Insurance/Safety Chair–obtaining insurance certificates from National for all Pocono Region moving car events.  We have less than 10 of those events a year.
Membership Chair–sending a welcome email to all Pocono Region new members each month and reporting on the membership status at the Board of Directors meeting and Membership meeting each month and maintaining a roster for the oil can drawing at each Membership meeting—which, by the way, is at $252.  Must be present to be entered and win!
Web Chair–this is a managerial position only.  Our website is produced and maintained by a professional Webmaster.  Your would only need to funnel information about Pocono Region events to him and act as a liaison between the Region and the Webmaster.
Because we are a small region, these positions do not require a lot of work.  A chair gets you a position and a vote on the Board of Directors meetings which are held via Zoom (for now) on the second Tuesday of each month.  Please contact Margie Becker if you would like more information on any of these positions.

Since our Pocono Region Christmas Party at the Beaumont Inn was cancelled due to the COVID restrictions, we will be having a regular December monthly membership meeting instead. It will be on the usual 3rd Tuesday of the month—December 15th.
We have decided to go a bit upscale from our usual meeting places to get everyone in the holiday mood. It will be held at Momento’s Restaurant on North 9th Street (Route 611) in Stroudsburg. https://www.momentopizzeria.com/. Please check out their website for how they are handling dining during the COVID pandemic and to look at their menu.
It is one of the finest dining establishments in the Poconos and even though it is a pizzeria, they do not have pizza for dine in, only take out. We can only take a limited number of people, so please RSVP as soon as possible (but no later than December 11th) to Margie Becker jimmar(at)ptd(.)net. Reservations are required. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Once you have RSVPed by email, please send a check, made out to “Pocono Region PCA” for $20/per person and send it to Margie Becker (ed: See email blast for address.) Your reservation will not be counted until a check is received. You will get the check returned to you at the meeting.
We will be ordering off the menu and everyone will pay their own dinner. There will be a short meeting and installation of officers. THERE WILL BE NO ZOOM MEETING THAT EVENING. There will also not be an oil can drawing that evening since we will not have any Zoomers with us. Put on your Christmas sweater and your mask and join us in person for the last meeting of 2020. We want to thank the outgoing officers for their hard work and welcome in the new officers. Hope to see you there!

Since 2005, we’ve been involved with community charities, built relationships with local farmers and provided diners with delightful surprises when they visit. Stop in today to try one of the many fine dishes we have to offer.

Our November Membership Meeting will be at the “The Hangout” on the 17th (the normal 3rd Tuesday ) with doors opening at 5:30, order your dinner from the menu – and oh yeah it is Taco Tuesday, and business agenda starting at 7:00 pm.  We will also try to use ZOOM again for those that cannot attend in person.  The Oil Can is at $222 and you must be present to win.


The main item of business is the election of the Board of Directors Officers for 2021.  The recommended slate is President – Marge Becker, Vice President – Beth Herwig, Treasurer – Ed Slusarczyk, and Secretary – Trish Slusarczyk.  Thanks to these folks for volunteering to take on these positions.


The Hangout’s address is 532 PA-940, White Haven, PA 18661.  It is next to the Comfort Inn at the intersection of PA-940, the PA-Turnpike Northeast Extension, and I-80.

Tech Session at Second Gear Performance on Saturday November 7th 


We are pleased to announce that a Fall TECH SESSION has been confirmed with Second Gear Performance for Saturday morning November 7th starting at 9:00 AM and ending at 12:00 PM.


Iniel looks forward to seeing his PCA friends and guests at this event.

Second Gear Performance’s address is 294 North First Street, Stroudsburg, PA, 18360.

Light refreshments will be provided. Due to the COVID guidance we are limiting attendance to 20 cars.  We can have more than 20 people attending since this is an indoor/outdoor event.  However, we will need to wear masks and social distance.  Please print and complete a PCA Communicable Disease Waiver before you arrive and bring it with you, unless you have already turned one in. ( CD Waiver ).


Second Gear will try to accommodate all vehicles for an under-vehicle view on the lift.  He expects to accommodate up to 20 cars on a first come first serve basis, so please sign-in when you arrive.

Unfortunately, the December Meeting/Christmas Party/Holiday Celebration has been cancelled. This results from the current guidance for restaurants and indoor gatherings that precludes us from meeting our expectations for the event.  We are working on a location for a regular meeting at a nice restaurant in December.  Let’s all hope that 2021 will be much better.


Our October Pocono Region Membership Meeting 10/20/2020 will be at the Grotto Pizza

6:00 PM to 7:00 PM food served then 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM meeting.

Hello Pocono Region PCA Membership: 

On Saturday, October 3rd, Pocono Region will be hosting our annual (but now 2 year) New Member’s Breakfast beginning at 8:00 AM at Pocono Organics Cafe located at 1015 Long Pond Road, Long Pond PA (Pocono Raceway at the corner of Route 115 and Long Pond Road.). All Pocono Region members are invited but only if your name appears at the bottom of this email, will you and your affiliate member be entitled to a free breakfast at this new and very popular eatery.

This will be an outdoor event under their tent and will be held rain or shine. Registration is required and there can be no walk-in participants.

Breakfast will be served between 8:00 AM and 9:15 AM,  At 9:30, we will have a special check presentation to the American Red Cross with officials from the Pocono Raceway and American Red Cross from our Drive for the Red Fundraiser held this past July. Following the check presentation, there will be the opportunity to take a short 30 mile drive on some nearby Pocono winding roads.

Registration is to be made through our Region VP Margie Becker by email  to jimmar at ptd.DOT net. Only New members will receive a coupon voucher for your breakfast good only for the  time and day of the event.  Regular members will be responsible for their own breakfast check but still must register. Deadline to register is Sunday, September 27th.

Please remember to fill out and bring your Communicable Disease Waiver form (here is a blank – CDW R2), unless you have already submitted one.  We will need to wear masks (except when eating) and social distance during the event.  We must comply with the PA and PCA guidance.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.  Please bring your own hand sanitizing agents, too.

There is a limit of 25 people for an indoor meeting, so please let Marge Becker know if you will be attending ( JIMMAR qt ptd dot .net ). This meeting will be at the standard times – 3rd Tuesday of the month, Dinner at 6 pm and Business at 7 pm. 


We will be discussing our slate of candidates for the 2021 Board of Directors.  We need someone to volunteer to run for the Secretary position (attend two meetings a month, Board and Membership, and generate the minutes for those meetings).  Please let me, or any Board Member, know if you are interested or know someone who may be interested.

August Member’s Meeting at Eurana Park in Weatherly, PA. It has been very difficult for your BOD to find outdoor venues to meet because of the current situation with COVID-19. Eurana Park is a tranquil spot in Weatherly with a playground, basketball court, volleyball court, and even disc golf course. There is a lake for swimming (closed), indoor pavilion, band shell, and 2 huge open-air covered pavilions that have 18 large picnic tables each, which is perfect for social distancing rain or shine at our meeting. There is also a snack bar which serves food, and ICE CREAM for dessert..

There is a paved parking lot for parking with a short walk to the covered pavilion where we will conduct our meeting. Rest rooms are available.

And a word of caution, as a former Safety Chair I’ll suggest observing speed limits, especially since I have been told that there are a few speed traps in and around Weatherly.

Please remember to fill out and bring your Communicable Disease Waiver form . We will need to wear masks and social distance during the event, except when eating. We must comply with the PA and PCA guidance. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
