Porsche Club Appreciation Day at Wyoming Valley/Napleton Porsche 6/15

On June 15 there is a Porsche Club Appreciation Day at Wyoming Valley/Napleton Porsche from 10 am to 2 pm. Lunch will be provided.  We will have a wash and shine car show (cars need to be on display from 11 am to 1:30 pm, with an awards presentation at 2 pm) with the top 3 cars getting prizes. PCA members and the public can vote.  We will learn about the 2020 Macan rollout, enjoy dealership and garage tours, and of course there will be opportunities to meet the staff.

June 2019 General Membership Meeting, Tuesday June 18th, 2019

All meetings start at 7 PM. Please arrive at 6:00 if you plan on eating.

As an enticement to attend the Membership meetings we have tweaked the Oil Can raffle process to increase your chances of winning. Last night the raffle was for almost $900 and the person drawn was not present. In the future, you still have to be present to win and each member has to pay the $2 entry. The change is that there will now be a cap of $500, so with the new process at the next meeting there will be a drawing for $500 and a separate drawing for the balance (if it stays below $500). If we exceed $1000 there will be 3 drawings, two for $500, and a third for the remaining balance. So now there are even more reasons to attend the Membership meetings.

Happy almost April everyone!!! – the potholes seem to be getting worse and more plentiful (I’ve heard there is a 3-bedroom pothole for rent between Wilkes-Barre and Scranton).  Hopefully the onset of April will get folks to work improving the quality of our roads.

But a good chance to show off our cars will be at the 13th annual Wilkes University ASME Car Show on April 7th.  Lang Greiner mentioned this event at our last two membership meetings.  Every year the show benefits a worthy charity for the community.  This year’s main benefactor will be Patriot’s Cove, an organization that benefits and helps returning veterans from war.  Directly from them: ” Patriots Cove, a program of Hunts for Healing, provides an environment of healing for our Veterans, First Responders severely injured in the line of duty as well as their Caregivers”.  There will be music, food, and even a RWD dyno on site, along with venders such as Hot Wheels and GK Synthetics.  There will also be trophies and prizes, and t shirts while supplies last.  Last year our Randy Duckworth’s 928 won a trophy.  When you register please let then know you are with the PCA (bringing a Porsche to the show) so that he can reserve a large enough section to have us all parked near one another.  Please look at the attached pdf for registration information.

Our PCA Pocono Region’s next membership meeting of 2019 will be April 16th at Alfredo’s Cafe in Scranton (1040 South Washington Avenue, Scranton, PA, 18505) at 6 pm (1800).  The Oil Can Raffle is up to $772.  You must be present to win!  Hoping to see you there.
